Transport and Parking
Vrchlabi is a local centre of administration and services, therefore, many people come here for shopping, to the authorities, as well as for culture and tourism. The town’s navigation system to the centre, hospital and large shopping centres is very good and the car parks are well marked.
Where to Park?
Have you come by car? Don’t worry, there are plenty of smaller car parks in the town. Those closest to the town centre are paid, others are free. The larger car parks near the monastery and the culture centre are 5 minutes’ walking distance from the main square.
The car parks near Aquacentrum and in the Vejsplachy resort are larger, but further from the centre. Nevertheless, walking is healthy :-)
If you come in a caravan or campervan, we recommend using the campsites at Lisci farma or Vejsplachy, or you can park for one night at the Vejsplachy car park or near the Strelnice culture centre. These two car parks large and free but have no electricity or drains.
How to Pay the Parking Fee?
Most of the car parks are equipped with pay and display machines, so it’s useful to have some coins. You can also pay via the MPLA application – virtual pay meter (for Android and iOS). Parking disks for short-term parking can be bought in the Information Centre.
Krkonose Cyclobuses
Vrchlabi is the gateway to the Krkonose Mts. and is therefore the a hub for Krkonose cyclobuses that meet here early morning to go to the Western and Eastern Krkonose, Spindlerova chalet, the foothills and the Kuks Baroque complex.
Railway Station
The railway station, 1.5 km from the town centre, is on a non-electrified single-track line from Kuncice nad Labem. You can continue along the regional lines from Kuncice to Trutnov, Stara Paka and Chlumec nad Cidlinou. The bus station is near the train station.
Bus Station
Vrchlabi has plenty of bus lines that connect it with the nearby towns, mountain resorts, the regional capital and Prague. The bus station is some 1300 m from the town centre, and also serves as the main hub for the Krkonose cyclobuses in summer.
Vrchlabi Town Transport
Transport for the 13 thousand inhabitants of Vrchlabi is provided by the local KAD company. Passengers can pay in cash, by payment card, mobile phone or smart watch.
